Match Preview: Matlock Town
Bamber Bridge look to bounce back from a late defeat last week as they make the journey down to Matlock Town.
The hosts come into the game off the back of two defeats and will be hoping for a quick climb up the table as they currently sit in one of the relegation places.
Last season the sides could only be separated by goal difference and the year before that both sides made the Play-offs. As for the most recent clash, a double from Mackenzie O’Neil was enough to beat Matlock 2-1 last December.
The goals have been hard to come by so far this season for Town with a return of sixteen, however ten of which have come at The Proctor Cars Stadium.
Fresh from making a landmark 750th career appearance, Simon Grand will be hoping to add to his goal tally for the season for Brig. He has featured in all but two games so far this season and has become a regular up top scoring 4 since the move forward.
A win for Brig would cut the gap to the playoffs which currently stands at 8 points and the club could move up into the top half of the table.
Manager Jamie Milligan spoke about what he anticipates being a tough game “Yeah we need to work on a couple of things, they’ve picked up a bit and made some good signings so its going to be a tough game away from home.”
“We are still in an alright position we just need to look to put another mini run together to keep up with that leading pack”
