Stockton Town (H) Preview
After a late loss at the weekend Bamber Bridge will look to return to winning ways against Stockton Town on Tuesday night
It’s the first game of a home double header this week with the visitors sitting 12th in the table ahead of the encounter. Led by manager Michael Dunwell the visitors have returned to the Northern Premier League having gained promotion last season winning the play off final on penalties.
Stockton made a quick start on their return winning their first 3 games of the season before a dip in form, they make the journey to Brig following a 3-1 victory over Warrington Rylands at the weekend with just 1 point separating the sides.
Brig will have to be wary of Stockton’s forward presence, Michael Sweet with an impressive 7 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions with fellow striker Stephen Thompson closely behind with 6 in 14.
Bamber Bridge have a man in form themselves, Lucas Weaver reaching 5 for the season in Saturday's loss with brigs man netting twice in his last home appearance. Brig will be hoping to move quickly on from the Basford loss having been on a 4-game unbeaten run.
Jamie Milligan’s side seem to have hit a hot streak in front of goal, with 12 of their 19 goals this season coming in the last 5 games and with Stockton without a clean sheet since the 26th of August Tuesday’s game promises to be an exciting encounter.
A home win could see Brig move to within 2 points of the play offs.
