Bamber Bridge v Morpeth Town

Having successfully navigated the first round of the FA Trophy, attention returns to the league as Bamber Bridge welcome Morpeth Town to the SFC Stadium.

Once again for Brig the man in form to look at is Lucas Weaver the forward up to 9 goals for the season scoring 5 of these in October, and he will be hoping to take his tally into double digits at the weekend.

Simon Grand will also be looking to continue his hot streak having scored twice in the past two games.

Both teams come into the game on a 2-game winning streak with Morpeth sitting just 1 point and 1 place above Brig in the league table. Both of there 2 previous wins have come on the road and have had the same scoreline of 2-0 Morpeth.

As well as a good winning record away from home, 13 of Morpeth’s 19 goals have been scored away from Craik Park.

For the visitors the man to watch is Jack Foalle with 7 goals for the season and is just 2 away from equaling his tally from last season.

The two teams know each other well, this is now the 5th season that the teams will have played together in the Northern Premier League.

Manager Jamie Milligan spoke last week about hoping that his team can continue its good run, “We need to stay in the pack because come Christmas time and new year we want to be pushing for the play-offs”

“I know that the squad is good enough and I know if they just believe in themselves a bit more, they can give any team in this league a game”
