Match preview: Leek Town (H)
After a long week of travelling Bamber Bridge return to the SFC stadium as they host Leek Town.
Leek were promoted to the Northern Premier League as champions of the West division but have struggled to carry that momentum in to this season.
The visitors currently occupy one of the relegation spaces and come into Saturday’s encounter winless in their last five games. However they do have a positive away record with twelve of their 16 points coming on the road.
Goals have been hard to come by for Town only managing to find the net twelve times this season. Similarly to Brig, Leek lost their fixture last week to storm Bert and a win would see the visitors draw level on points with Brig.
The squad was boosted on Monday with the announcement that Callum Leigh had returned on loan from Buxton. The midfielder started on Tuesday and scored 5 goals for the club last season in 17 appearances.
A win for Brig could take them up to 14th with games in hand over several teams above them.
Assistant Manager John Hills spoke after Tuesday's game.
“Weve got to be a bit brighter and keep the ball a bit better, we weren’t at our best against Blyth, and I know Jamie will get a reaction out of the lads.”
“You know it’s a must win game for us so we will make sure we are fired up for it and that we are ready to go”
