Match Preview: Bamber Bridge v FC United of Manchester
The fixture last season saw an enthralling 3-3 draw played out between the sides so fans will be hoping that tomorrow’s matchup will be equally entertaining.
Both sides come into the fixture of the back of losses in the Northern Premier League however the opposition did come out victorious in a midweek friendly against Prague Raptors.
Brigs will be hoping that top scorer Lucas Weaver can perform again having netted his sixth goal of the season during Tuesdays loss to Stockton. Despite being sent off in the fixture Maccauley Wilson is available for selection.
The visitors make the journey to the SFC stadium, currently taking up one of the relegation places but a win could take them out of them. Although low down in the table United boast an impressive away record with 2 wins 2 draws and just 1 loss for the campaign so far.
United will be hoping to continue the away form and their attacking threat comes from a firing forward line with attackers Adam le Fondre and Jordan Buckley equal on 6 goals for the season.

A man who has played for both sides is current Brig captain Michael Potts. The skipper joined FC United in 2019 before resigning for Brig leaving United in 2023. Potts has appeared in every league fixture this season and scored in the 4-2 win over Prescot cables last month.
Post the game on Tuesday night manager Jamie Milligan stated, “I’m expecting a response from the players because for one they weren’t good enough tonight, they know that.”
“There’s no better game to come in and show a response to how they’ve played tonight because like I've said they weren’t good enough tonight, so with a big crowd on Saturday against a good team, good manager it's a great game to come back to.”
