Preview: Bamber Bridge v Farsley Celtic
Bamber Bridge turn their attention to the cup as they welcome Farsley Celtic to the SFC Stadium in the FA Trophy 2nd round. A win for Brig would see them in the last 64 of the competition for the first time in 17 years!
It is the first time the two sides have met since 2019 when Farsley ran out 3-0 victors. It is also the first time Brig have been drawn at home in the FA Trophy this season.
Brig will be looking to bounce back after an away loss to Matlock last weekend. Mark Cullen’s job of filling the Lucas Weaver shape hole in the forward line started perfectly, the attacker scoring his second goal of the season just nine minutes into that game.
Simon Grand has found the net in both the qualifying and 1st round of the competition, scoring the winner away at Guisley and the second of 3 at Workington AFC and will be hoping to take his season’s tally up past five.
The visitors are currently in their 6th season in the National League North and occupy the 18 in the table. Managed by Pav Singh Celtic enter the competition this round and come into the tie with 2 wins from their last 6.
Celtic hold an impressive away record for the current campaign with 5 of their 6 wins for the season coming on the road. The player to watch out for is Ben Atkinson, the 29-year-old has 4 goals in as many appearances and is the side’s top scorer.
Kick-off is at 3:00 PM and ticket prices are as follows:
