Bamber Bridge 3 - 2 Whitby Town
Whitby let their intent be known early on with Aaron Haswell and Junior Mondal both seeing there early long-range efforts sale over the bar.
Brig themselves had an early chance through Jeff Adubofour sending a low cross to Mark Cullen his touch was too deft and drifted wide of goal.
New signing Eliis Litherland-Riding was called into action 20 minutes in to tip a Steven Walker shot wide.
Whitby's pressure would eventually bring a goal on the half hour mark. After lengthy spell of possession in Brigs half Mondal found Josef Wheatley free in the box, with the midfielder picking out the bottom corner to open the scoring.
Whitby soon doubled their lead. A Haswell free-kick was headed back across goal and then volleyed in by the onrushing Max Howells.
Brig showed some fight before the end of the half through Lorenze Mullarky-Mathews. The winger 1st creating a chance for Cullen then moments later dancing past the Whitby defenders only to be denied by Shane Bland in Whitby’s goal.
Two minutes into added time Brig managed to halve the deficit. Callum Leigh received the ball on the edge of the box before taking a touch and unleashed a powerful low shot which took a deflection on its way into the goal, giving Brig hope going into the second-half.
Whitby had a great chance to restore their two-goal lead 10 minutes into the second-half. Walker twisted and turned past Adubofour, but his shot was exquisitely kept out by the outstretched leg of Litherland-Riding.
As the clock ticked past the hour Brig found the equaliser from a Leigh screamer. The midfielder picked the ball up 35 yards out and released a wicked effort that sailed into the top left corner to level the score.
Brig would complete the comeback with ten minutes left on the clock. Leigh's corner was met by the towering Simon Grand his header looped past Bland and into the Whitby goal.
Brig dug deep in the final 10 minutes with Macauley Wilson making a last-ditch lunge to block an effort from Howells. Whitby were presented an opportunity in the dying embers of the game though a free kick, but the Brig wall stood strong and blocked the powerful effort to secure the 3 points.
A big comeback win for Brig who will look to take the momentum into Macclesfield at home on Tuesday night.
