Bamber Bridge win 4-3 on penalties

Match Preview: Chorley vs Bamber Bridge

After an unfortunate defeat against Ilkeston Town on Saturday, Brig will be looking to bounce back against our local rivals on Tuesday night.

Bamber Bridge played superbly away at Ilkeston and will be looking to bring that style and confidence to an opposition who are playing very well in the National League North this season.

In Chorley's last six league games, they have won four, drew one and lost one. So, the Magpies have been in some particularly good form as of late and are most certainly looking to make a claim for the playoffs this season after just falling short last term.

Harry Scarborough, who is on loan from Chorley, will not be available for the game and will be a miss.

After the performance on Saturday, even in defeat heads could be held high, and there is a sense of optimism that an upset can be made at the Victory Park Stadium.

After a goal-line clearance last Saturday and a penalty scored on Tuesday, club captain Macauley Wilson will be one of the many to be relied on in this cup tie. The 26-year-old has been playing incredibly well this season.

Chorley have had a few players who have started the season well, with Justin Johnson in some fine form. The winger has five goals in the league this season and has been a key part of Andy Preece’s side.

Bamber Bridge will be looking to replicate the famous win back in 2018 in this competition when club legend Chris Marlow scored the one and only goal in the 1-0 victory at Victory Park.

Jamie Milligan and his side will have to be at its best to cause any kind of upset against the Magpies, but Brig know anything is possible in this competition and will give their all to the final whistle.
