Semi-Final Preview: Bamber Bridge vs Southport
Last time out in the Lancashire FA Trophy, Brig knocked out local rivals Lancaster in a thriller.
This time round Bamber Bridge go to Darwen to face Southport in the Semi-final of the competition.
Southport are the defending champions of this cup, having won the trophy last year and the year before. They are eager to win the competition three times in a row.
Jim Bentley and his team have had a good season in the National League North, sitting in 16th place. The Sandgrounders are looking set to stay in the division. The Yellows have three wins in their last five games and are heading into the game with some good form.
However, like Brig, Southport were beaten 3-2 at home against Blyth Spartans and will be looking to get back to winning ways in the LFA.
A player to look out for in tomorrow’s clash is goalkeeper Chris Renshaw, the keeper has four clean sheets in his last five games and picked up the Player of the Month award in February.
Brig on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat against Warrington Rylands on Saturday.
Mark Cullen loves this cup competition, scoring an 18-minute hat-trick in the last round as well as having six goals in total in the competition.
If Brig are able to win tomorrow night, Milligan’s team will face either Padiham or Colne
