Haringey Borough match report

match report by Simon Grier.

For all Ks' fans many concerns about playing in Mitcham, the team's home form isn't one of them.

It's just as well. Lee O'Leary's side's strong record at Imperial Fields stands in stark contrast to their dismal record on the road, where a 5-2 defeat to Haringey Borough made it 11 games without a win, a run stretching back to last season.

Hopes that this game would break the run - Borough went into it behind Ks in the league, albeit only on goal difference - came to nothing. It took a mere four minutes for Haringey to go ahead when. Ks failed to clear their lines properly from a corner and Kaylen Hinds was played in to beat Sam Jackson from an acute angle.

As in previous away games Ks struggled to create chances, offering nothing until the 26th minute when Nodirbek Bobomurodov found some space to shoot from the edge of the box. Luke Mewitt got comfortably behind it to save.

On 36 minutes Borough doubled their advantage, Georgios Aresti finding space on the right before cutting inside and beating Jackson with a fine 20-yard curler on his left foot.

Jackson saved well from Hinds and then Borough hit the post before they wrapped the game up just before half time, Anthony Mendy powering home from the edge of the box.

Ks enjoyed a quick flurry after the break with Michael Abnett firing wide and Bobomurodov forcing Mewitt to tip over. But midway through the half it was 4-0 and then, almost immediately, 5-0. First Chaynie Burgie backheeled in from close range after Ks failed to cut out a low cross from the left; and then Hinds grabbed his second, powering home from outside the box after cutting out a stray Dwight Pascal pass.

Ks at least saved some face late on. Iker Noguera Leon, after impressing for the under 18s all season, scored his first goal from the club with a fine 20-yarder into the top corner. Two minutes later new signing Amine Sassi created himself some space and pulled it back to 5-2. The game was long gone by this point though as Ks endured another away game to forget.
