Bognor Regis Town report
match report by Simon Grier
Amadou Tangara was a Ks player until just a couple of weeks ago but for his new side, Bognor Regis Town, he showed Ks fans exactly why Rob Tolfrey has had to be at his best this season to keep hold of the number 1 shirt.
Tangara made a number of fine saves on a frustrating night for Ks as they failed to beat him and Ashton Leigh grabbed the only goal of the game for a Bognor side with just 13 players available.
Right from the start Ks threatened, with Dan Hector - or possibly under-pressure defender Eddie Wakley - hitting the post in just the third minute. Ollie Cook headed wide and Tangara beat away a Louie Theophanous 20-yarder as Ks dominated early on.
Tangara made a fine double save when he kept out a Sean Clohessy shot and then reacted well to block Theophanous' rebound. And Ks remained the better side, despite Bognor's Tommy Leigh hitting the angle of post and bar from distance. But with Tangara denying first Reece Hall and then Dan Bennett, the latter a fine fingertip save, the sides went in level.
The Rocks struck almost immediately after the interval, Leigh turning in the rebound after Tolfrey had tipped Victor Hensel's effort onto the post. Bognor went on to dominate the next period of the game with Leigh having a fierce shot deflect narrowly wide and Ks struggling to get into the game.
As the match wore on Ks began creating chances again but once more Tangara was equal to them - he saved another Cook header and tipped a Bennett effort over. Bennett also fired a 20-yard overhead narrowly wide and when Tangara finally made a mistake, coming out and fouling Hector on the edge of the box, Ks wasted the free kick.
Tangara's final good save was with his legs, denying Bennett again, this time from a header after a Fabio Saraiva free kick. Ks might be grabbing the headlines with their cup exploits but in the league, they're still to win at King George's Field.
