Grier's Guide to Cheshunt

The town: Hertfordshire town whose former residents include a young Elizabeth I, Cliff Richard and Olympic gold-winning cyclist Laura Kenny. Posh Spice went to school there, and reportedly begged her Dad not to drop her off in the family Rolls Royce as she was embarrassed by the family's wealth.
The ground: The Stadium, Theobalds Lane, Cheshunt, EN8 8RU. When we last visited 15 years ago it was fairly dilapidated but a smart new main stand was installed a few years ago.
Directions: A fairly straightforward drive, it's just off the A10 close to junction 25 of the M25. There's a car park at the ground. The nearest station is Theobolds Lane, on the Overground reached from Seven Sisters or Liverpool Street. The South Western Railway strikes will finally, finally, be over but there's no respite for long-suffering travellers because instead, engineering works will be making it even harder to get into London.
Our record there: Our last visit was quite a remarkable one - they were second in the league and we were bottom but we came away with a 5-1 win, Mazin Ahmad's first goal for the club the pick of them after a run from his own half.
Players to watch: Cheshunt, managed by Craig Edwards, have recently given their firepower a massive boost with the signing of popular ex-Ks striker Ryan Moss. Other former Ks include Reece Beckles-Richards, and Ugo Udoji.
Recent form: A 3-0 win over Merstham recently gave them respite from a poor run of form - it's their only league win in their last ten.
Crowd: Generally around the 150-200 mark, though the draw of seeing Edwards in action will hopefully encourage a good Ks contingent along.
Drinking: The nearest pub to the ground is The Vine, which looks spacious and does typical pub food.
Food: Cedars Park Cafe is in a park near the ground and does sandwiches, burgers, all day breakfasts and cake, among other food.
