Late goals condemn K’s to home defeat

Enfield Town are not an opponent who Ks have had much joy against recently and they once again got the better of Tommy Williams' men thanks to two late goals in a generally uneventful game.

Ks were well-organised and looked solid defensively for most of the contest but, missing Pico Gomez, struggled to create much and the tireless Ryan Moss mostly found little service up front.

It was the visitors who had the best of the opening stages with Rob Tolfrey saving well from Nigel Neita and Ricky Gabriel before Dernell Wynter came close.

Ks grew into the game later in the first half though and fashioned two chances for Moss. However he could only head Joe Turner's cross straight at Nathan McDonald and then a Yussuf Bamba cross wide.

McDonald had a far tougher save to make ten minutes after the interval, diving at full stretch to keep a curling effort from Turner out.

He also did well to keep out a powerful Ryan Gondoh effort from a tight angle while Enfield struggled to create many chances; when Wynter did find space in the box he fired high and wide.

Enfield remained patient and disciplined though and struck late in the game to secure all three points. When it arrived it seemed simple, Neita played in behind a flat-footed back line and then beating Tolfrey one-on-one.

Ks kept trying for an equaliser but struggled to create a clear-cut chance and eventually left themselves exposed at the back for Wynter to add a second in stoppage time. Ks' search for consistency continues.
