Daylight Robbery by Met Police? Not really...
All good things must come to an end and Ks' long unbeaten run - some ten games - was terminated at Imber Court. It wasn't a poor performance, more a frustrating day, as Ks failed to capitalise on first half superiority and then conceded from a set piece on the stroke of the interval. Tommy Williams' side remain, very much, in the promotion hunt though.
The impressive Rob Bartley and Steve Sutherland were often on hand to thwart Ks' early efforts, despite superiority of possession. The best chance of the half broke to Ricky Sappleton after good work cutting inside from Dan Bennett, but on his wrong foot his effort lacked the power to beat Craig King.
Ks were dealing with a different outfit entirely from that which capitulated 7-0 at Kingsmeadow. And on the stroke of half time the Met took the lead, Adrian Markus heading home a Charlie Collins corner at the near post.
Ks are yet to win a game in which they have fallen behind this season though, and the second half was a more even affair. Joe Turner fired narrowly over for Met Police, as did Nathan Campbell after a counter-attack.
In a sign that it was not to be Ks' day, Pico Gomez rounded King only to see his left-foot effort hit the post. It was a difficult chance though, with defenders having recovered to take up sentry on the goal-line.
King kept out a Ty Smith effort from a Bennett cross and then made the save that would earn him the man of the match award, making a superb one-handed stop to keep out a Gomez effort.
Ks left gaps as they committed men forwards and when Billy Crook teed Sam Butler up 16 minutes from time, he powered past Rob Tolfrey to end the game as a contest.
Lee O'Leary grabbed a late consolation goal when the ball broke loose after King and Gomez contested a long ball over the top, but Ks had no time to launch a last attack.
