K’s Ship goals at the Lane

Kingstonian went to Thurrock having recently got through to the first round of the FA Trophy, recorded what may go down as a good win at Whitehawk and, if so, second place in the league.

A visit to the team bottom of the table seemed the perfect opportunity to continue a good start to the season.

They left Thurrock with no points, having conceded four goals and not looked like scoring themselves. Four goals came from some abysmal defending, with gaping space around Ks area all afternoon long. Makeshift full-backs and a flimsy central midfield meant that the visitors centre backs were over-worked for 90 minutes. The four goals were finished nicely offering no chance to Tolfrey.

Ks were poor. There were no redeeming qualities to the performance, and it’s not worthy of a full match report. It must however be said that the home side’s performance, dominance of midfield, good finishing and solid defensive effort was not that of a team at the bottom of the table. Let’s move on to next week.
