Local lad Michael re-joined the club during the summer of 2023 from FC United of Manchester, after a 4 year spell at Broadhurst Park. A central midfielder who’s strengths are his work rate and commitment, Michael become a fans favourite during his first spell with Brig.

Michael begin his footballing career at Manchester United in their youth academy as a striker, before signing for Blackburn Rovers in 2008 where he became well known for his passing ability and had been reverted to a central midfielder, although was never quite able to break into the first time. Potts signed for National League side York City in June 2011 and was part of their squad as York were promoted to League Two via the playoffs and won the FA Trophy.  Following another season at York City in League 2, Michael then went on to play of Guiseley, AFC Fylde, Bradford Park Avenue and Curzon Ashton before his first spell at Bamber Bridge.
