Pre match review

A pre match review before the home clash with Blyth Spartans. By Seth Boardman
Blyth Spartans (H)
After a late equaliser by Morpeth last Saturday and the points being shared, Bamber Bridge will look to get back to winning ways against Blyth Spartans this Saturday.
It's Brig's first home game in just under two weeks after having three away games on the bounce. Brig currently sit 19th in the league with 34 points compared to our visitors Blyth Spartans who currently sit 22nd in the table with 18 points.
Blyth came into the Northern Premier league after getting narrowly relegated from the National League North.
Earlier this week our visitors did set up a Gofundme attempting to raise £25,000 as they go through some crucial financial issues. They have already raised £13,515. In some other bad news for the club Blyth's head coach Nathan Haslam has left the club due to personal reasons.
Earlier this season when Brig made the long journey up to the North East on a cold Tuesday night the game finished in a 1-1 draw. Alex Kenyon opened up the scoring on 29' minutes for the visitors, a good ball into the box by Hey found Simon Grand, who headed it back into the box from the back post and after a miskicked clearance by Ben Fell it then fell to the strong defender, Alex Kenyon who chested it down before volleying it home from close range past Richardson.
Brig were then in control of the game for the most part but when the clock struck 80' minutes Blyth equalised the score.
Some good footwork by the hosts then saw a cross come into the box by Gordan. The ball then fell to Joe Oliver who unleashed a good strike which then found the top left corner.
A win for Brig could take Jamie Milligan's men to 16th in the league with 37 points.
Blyth's top goalscorer and danger man Billy Gordan will be looking to add to his scoring tally and be a real threat to Bamber Bridge.
Brig are currently going through an unlucky spell with injuries with Alex Kenyon, Macauley Wilson, Jeff Adubofour, Michael Potts, Will Russ, Mark Cullen, Olly Molloy and Danny Forbes all currently being injured.
Simon Grand is suspended for Saturday as he has accumulated too many yellow cards. He also missed last Saturday's game vs Morpeth Town.
The squad was boosted after tall striker Ewan Bange returned to Brig till the end of the season. Bange joined last Tuesday and has made 2 appearances and scoring 1 goal.
The final ten! There is only 10 more games left of the 2024/25 Northern Premier League Campaign. Them ten games include 5 away matches and 5 home games. So come on down and support the lads through final stretch.
Brig's last game was last Saturday when Brig made the long journey to Craik Park home to Morpeth. The game was underway and Brig opened the scoreline on just 9' minutes after a good volley from Jack Baxter, making him second top goalscorer. Brig were in control of the game but on 27' minutes Josh King equalised the score for Morpeth with a good header at the back post. On 67' minutes Brig took the lead for the second time of the game. Some good footwork inside the Morpeth half then fell to Dodd who took on a good shot from close range, but Langley made a good save, but then Ewan Bange was there to get the rebound and slot it in from 8 yards. For the final stages of the game it was equal with both teams having good chances. Then they left it late on but on 80' minutes Morpeth equalised the game again. A corner came into the box to James who headed the ball back across the box to Hodgson who made it level once again.
