Match Preview FC United of Manchester (A)

Bamber Bridge travel to FC United of Manchester for the penultimate away game of the season.

The hosts are managed by former Brig gaffer Neil Reynolds, who swapped the SFC stadium for Broadhurst Park back in October 2018. While Brig manager Jamie Milligan spent time with the reds in the 2018/19 campaign.

FC United of Manchester find themselves in 14th place in the Northern Premier League Premier division, two places and one point above Brig, although they have played two more games than Milligan’s men.

It was an entertaining three-all draw when the sides last met earlier this campaign, with Ewan Bange, Jack Baxter and Danny Edwards on the scoresheet for Brig.

The hosts find themselves winless in the last three league fixtures, while Brig will be looking to end the season on a high with five league games and a cup final to go.

Forward Aaron Bennett scored the winner and picked up the man of the match award in two of the red’s last three league wins. Including a 90 minute winner away at local rivals Atherton Collieries.

They ran out 4-0 victors in their last outing, a Fenix Trophy fixture against French side Vinsky FC.

Following their encounter with Brig they have only two league games to go, a visit to Guisley and a home fixture against Lancaster City.

Kick-off in M40 is at 3:00pm.
