Harry Benn's Fundraiser Update

Fundraiser for injured midfielder raises over £3000!

The fundraiser set up by club captain Macauley Wilson to support injured team mate Harry Benn's has now raised over £3000.

Harry suffered a double leg break and significant ankle damage in the final minute of the 2-2 draw away at Ashton United on 4 November.

He has now had surgery on his leg, but faces a long recovery time during which he will be unable to work.

Harry took to X (formerly Twitter) last week to update supporters and well wishers:

"I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has shown support, sent messages & donations at this difficult time. It really has meant the world. I have loved my football @BamberBridgeFC this season & the support I have received by everyone at the club has been incredible.

I would also like to show my appreciation to everyone associated with @AshtonUnitedFC who looked after me with so much care & continued to show support in the days following. "

Club captain Macauley Wilson has been delighted by the response to the fundraiser.

On reaching the £3k mark, he said:

"I'm really proud of everyone involved at Bamber Bridge football club for all coming together to raise money for Harry. We are  a great family club and this really shows that.

Also it's been really good to see donations coming in from the wider football community.  It's been really good to see everyone come together and donate so much, during what are very challenging times"

Everyone at Bamber Bridge FC would also like to extend their thanks to everyone who has donated and sent messages of support to Harry

Donations can still be made for Harry via Go Fund Me.
