Official statement following the Reserves' resignation from the West Lancashire League
Following the announcement by the West Lancashire League of Bamber Bridge Reserves resignation from the league, the club have issued the following statement.
"We note yesterday’s announcement from the West Lancashire Football League regarding our Reserve team's resignation from Division Two.
With the withdrawal now confirmed publicly, we felt it was important to update our supporters.
Firstly, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the West Lancashire Football League, its officers, volunteers and member clubs for the opportunity to compete in the competition over the last two years. We wish the league and all of its clubs every success for the season ahead.
Our decision was not taken lightly. Following a thorough review with our reserves manager, Louis Bonage, and as part of the club’s ongoing restructuring, it became clear that continuing in the league was no longer the most viable option for a number reasons.
Looking ahead, our intention is to establish a Bamber Bridge FC Under-23 side in the Lancashire Football League and we are now registered for this coming season.
Finally, we would like to thank every player, coach, volunteer and supporter who has represented or supported Bamber Bridge FC Reserves in the West Lancashire League over the last two years."
